2019 Anarchy Reserve Merlot
This beauty is now sold out, check back for our next vintage release in Fall 2022.
Hand-harvested from our home vineyard, Anarchist Mountain Vineyard in Osoyoos, we produced only 75 cases of this small-lot reserve wine.
90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, only the premium free-run juice was used for this wine. 20% whole bunch fermentation occurred in stainless steel before ageing in 100% French oak (50% new) for 18 months.
This wine took home a Silver Medal at the National Wine Awards of Canada and a combined score of 90 points.
It's floral with herbal notes on the noes, the palate rules with dark fruits like black plum, blackberries and cherries. This wine is a stunner now but if you have the patience you could lay it down for a couple of years.

Production Notes
After a challenging growing season, this fruit was hand picked off our home vineyard up Anarchist Mountain in the South Okanagan. This blend is 90% and 10% Cabernet Franc. Coming in on the 26th and 27th of October. Merlot was received and held in cold storage overnight before being whole berry destemmed. Fermentation took place in stainless steel after a 4 day cold soak which lasted a maximum of 20 days before the fruit being pressed off. The Cabernet Franc was fermented with 20% whole bunch in stainless steel and the remainder being whole berry. Only the premium free run juice was taken from both varietals for this wine which was aged in 50% new French oak and 50% seasoned French oak for 18 months. Blending occurred in November 2020 with bottling following in April 2021.
