Production Notes
The Sauvignon Blanc was harvested on September 17th from Rosebud Vineyard & Talcott Vineyard in the Wahluke Slope, AVA in Washington State, USA. It was received at our winery as juice on September 19th. The juice was fermented slowly in stainless steel over a 7-week period with maximum fermentation temperatures only reaching 12C to preserve the delicate aromatics. The final blend consists of 89% stainless steel tank and 11% seasoned barrique and was aged for 4-months on fine lees prior to bottling.
Winemaker Notes
The 2024 vintage experienced severe cold temperatures in January resulting in roughly 98% crop loss at Anarchist Mountain Vineyard and many of our grower’s vineyards. Fortunately, the latter part of the growing season was extremely favourable leading to healthy vines with strong top shoot growth. This leaves us very optimistic and excited for the 2025 growing season and beyond. In the meantime, we were able to build new relationships with our American neighbours in Washington State and secure juice for our white and Rosé wines. This is a great opportunity that has allowed us to experience a unique terroir in a new wine region. We are looking forward to producing local Okanagan wines and continuing our partnership with our BC grower’s again next vintage.
